Core Commitments

Want to play?

I would love to hear your findings if this resonates with you.

I’m a huge fan of working with opposites.

The world of contrast means that as humans, we have everything from one end of the spectrum to the other.

One end is often hidden in our shadow or unconscious.

* Remember the shadow isn’t bad - it’s just what’s in our blind spot.

One area is the commitment to old principles, which often have their roots in our core material, which consists of beliefs about ourselves and the world that are not true.

Core commitment :

This is what we spend a lot of our time doing, but the satisfaction seems to elude us somehow.

Signs:

* We give a lot of attention to it.

* Often, where we struggle.

* Takes up a lot of our time/ headspace.

Examples:

* Security (may manifest as worry and anxiety)

* Significance (may manifest as frustration and resentment)

* Money (may manifest as lack /security/ significance/overworking/)

* Love (may manifest as fantasy or loneliness)

* Being Needed (may manifest as overexertion, weak boundaries, can’t say No)

I love this bit:

What we need is the opposite!

Your core commitments are a cover-up for core needs.

* Security = Faith/ Trust

(IN - security. You are secure in, insecurity)

* Significance = Self Recognition

(There’s an inner recognition of self, not based on external validation)

* Money = Abundance

(Earth riches, sensual pleasure, wealth in healthy relationships, ease.)

* Love = Self Love

(Good self-care. Kind to self in thoughts and actions. Owning our needs, boundaries and desires and expressing them)

* Being Needed = Knowing you are Wanted. (Welcome here, you don’t have to prove your worth)

If we can integrate the opposite, we can bring our subconscious and conscious into alignment, ultimately stopping self-sabotage. (Which is actually our brain trying its best to meet a need that it doesn’t realise is outdated)

Little exercise:

Find what you are committed to: FLIP IT.

You’ll have your core need.

This core need is in alignment with your authentic self not your conditioned one.

This can give you rich insights into what your heart’s path is…not your head’s.
