Welcoming You Home..

Somatic Sensing is a synthesis of Body-Based Psychotherapy and practices from the Ancient Wisdoms.

The sessions are informed by Juliette’s Hakomi training, which is a body-based psychotherapy, alongside her training in the Yogic Therapeutic Arts.

We unify body and mind in a process of self-discovery by coming into a relationship with the body in a mindful, curious, and empathic way to explore what information the body holds for us.

Our emotional world is a rich source of vital information, holding messages for us which can contribute to a greater sense of well-being. We all have organising principles - how we manage our world and our beliefs about ourselves and others. In Somatic Sensing, we bring these often unconscious beliefs into awareness to be studied -to see if they still serve us, or if they are limiting us.

By following your body signals, especially your non-verbal expressions such as tensions and habits, we help bring unconscious patterns into awareness to liberate their associated painful emotions.

As Moshé Feldenkrais says:

“ You can’t do what you want until you know what you are doing”

Much of our belief system will have formed in our early years, with conditioning from society, peers, life events, etc. These beliefs are often limited and are associated with painful memories and hurts. These hurts, fears, and limitations continue to dictate our life circumstances, mostly out of our awareness. We often come to therapy when life becomes a struggle, and we can’t see how to help ourselves. The self-study approach of this therapy equips us to access our capacity for healing - the body is very wise and will move towards healing if we provide space.

Self-study, in the presence of a loving and empathetic guide, can help us to help ourselves by accessing our wisdom and connection to a deeper sense of self.

We can thrive, not just survive.
